Seasoned public health professional with focus on public health innovation, mapping social determinants of health to improve population health, and experience with epidemiology, clinical and health services research, program planning, implementation and evaluation. My current work focuses on operating a community health open data platform and training community health workers to screen patients for digital skills and connectivity, and then train patients to use digital health tools such as portals to electronic health records. I created a childhood obesity surveillance system for the State of Michigan using its immunization registry. This model, published in Health Affairs, is being disseminated nationally by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. More recently, I've entered the world of entrepreneurship. Inventor of Metaboloss, I am seeking to commercialize a set of tools that provide highly detailed, personalized actionable advice to help individuals achieve their health and fitness goals based on data coming from wearable activity tracking devices. I also pioneered and run the community health & wellness track of the Cleveland Medical Hackathon, having mentored winning teams each year.
